Taco Bell Vegan Crunchwrap

I Tried Taco Bell’s Vegan Crunchwrap (My Review)

Taco Bell announced that is was going to be testing a brand new Vegan Crunchwrap at three locations nationwide. One in New York, one in Los Angeles and one in Orlando.

So, naturally, I had to drive down to Orlando to try it out.

My thoughts?

It’s amazing!

First, you have to appreciate what a game-changer this Crunchwrap is. I tend to try any new vegan options that find their way onto chain restaurant menus.

But, this is more than just a chain adding an Impossible Burger or some Beyond Chicken Nuggets. This is Taco Bell’s own version of vegan beef, vegan cheese and vegan sour cream wrapped up in a Crunchwrap.

Seriously, this is next-level fast food plant-based deliciousness that isn’t merely an afterthought or an accidentally vegan option or even a menu item that still needs modifications.

This is a fully planned out vegan menu item that is designed for us from start to finish.

Vegan Crunchwrap – Taste

Vegan Crunchwrap from Taco Bell

If you’re not familiar with a Taco Bell Crunchwrap, it’s basically a tostada wrapped in a flour tortilla.

For the Vegan Crunchwrap, you have a flat corn tostada shell topped with Taco Bell vegan beef, vegan nacho cheese, vegan blanco sauce (like a sour cream), lettuce and diced tomatoes all wrapped in a flour tortilla.

Without exaggeration, it’s one of the best things I’ve had from a fast food restaurant in quite some time.

The Taco Bell vegan seasoned beef is outstanding. I would put it head-to-head against any of the vegan faux meats.

The vegan nacho cheese? I want it bottled – immediately.

And, finally, the vegan blanco sauce fits perfectly and is the icing on the cake.

Mix all that in with the tostada shell and some lettuce for some added crunch and what you end up with is a Crunchwrap that is nothing short of amazing.

Vegan Crunchwrap – Price

If this Vegan Crunchwrap would have been around $8, I wouldn’t have thought twice. Most vegan main menu items tend to run in the 8, 9 even 10-dollar-plus range.

The Taco Bell Vegan Crunchwrap? $4.99.

$4.99!!!

Five bucks is seriously crazy cheap for how much food you’re getting.

Make It Happen Taco Bell

Taco Bell Storefront

If you’re out there and you’re reading this Taco Bell, let’s make this thing happen.

The manager I spoke to at the Orlando location said they sold over 750 Crunchwraps on Day 1 (compared to 150 regular Crunchwraps on a normal day). If that doesn’t show that the demand for this kind of menu item at Taco Bell isn’t there I don’t know what can.

What I do know is this, I eat Taco Bell probably once a week on average and this Vegan Crunchwrap would definitely replace my normal Bean Burritos.
